My Story

I’m Lara Just. I am a degree qualified nutritionist, certified NLP practitioner and motivational coach. I have worked with many professionals in large corporate organisations, including nearly two decades in different research and senior analyst positions at large private IT Consulting firms as well as one of the largest central London hospitals in the public National Health Service.

After working with so many people in these type of environments: executives, investment bankers, lawyers, and IT consultants as my clients, I noticed that I was getting stressed, over-worked and exhausted of the corporate rat-race. And to my astonishment I also discovered that many of my own clients and colleagues felt similarly, confiding in me saying that they also found it increasingly hard to cope with the mounting pressures, dead-lines, and the resulting issues around work-life-balance, social and family life.  When a person is working many hours every day, requiring a lot of ‘brain power’, sitting largely immobile in-front of the computer, including evenings/nights and weekends, it can have significant effects on their physical and mental ability and health, weight gain, mood/ anxiety, motivation, & sleep (!), with direct implications on their performance at work as well as their social and family relationships.

I have myself felt these implications and suffered various health issues throughout my adult life, ‘thinking’ that I eat ‘healthy’ and do the right things, without actually ‘understanding’ how and what kind of foods as well as our own thoughts (mental attitude) can influence our health and wellbeing. After going back to university a second time in my life and studying for the next 5 years to become a degree qualified and certified to work in private practice, as well as discovering what effects neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) can have, my life became completely transformed, both in terms of my own health and personal growth. I discovered that nutrition and mental health has been my passion ever since growing up in Germany and my own experiences with first relatives in my family growing up. The difference was that I had now gained the knowledge, education and ability to understand, teach and critically assess this area of healthcare and its continuous new developments and advances. Having experienced growing support from other complementary healthcare practitioners as well as some open-minded individuals of the medical profession, this journey so far has truly been an eye opener for me, and I am loving every minute of it!

I now construct individual nutritional & lifestyle plans, especially designed for the ‘stressed and depressed’, e.g. professionals (as well as their partners), who want to get motivated to change, make better dietary and lifestyle choices, lose weight and feel happier and healthier again.  I’ve worked with many professional men and women (and their partners) over the past few years, and all of them reported more energy, feeling healthier, happier, find a new sense of purpose, the courage to realise their goals, AND losing at times up to 1-2 dress sizes. This can in most cases be easily achieved in just three months. All health, mood and body composition scores are recorded at each session, and collated in a database to evidence these trends throughout the individual’s programme.

In the next year, I am planning to expand my current 1-2-1 session practice to the group session level, focussing on low mood/ energy and performance and concentration, to make the programme more accessible to larger audiences. I am currently looking for joint venture partners who can add further value (including personal training, image consultancy, Spa/Gym partnerships) to help enhance these positive experiences and fantastic health outcomes even further.x
