Therapeutic, NLP & Motivational Coaching

What is ‘NLP‘?

NLP(“Neuro-Linguistic Programming) is a therapeutic technique to detect and ‘re-programme’ unconscious patterns of thought and behaviour in order to alter psychological responses. To put it simply, ‘neuro’ means the brain or mind and how our thoughts are processed and communicated by help of our language (=linguistic). ‘Programming’ would simply mean how we ‘code’ these thoughts and memories and recall or construct them. Our behaviours are result of our past learning and experiences that we have coded (=’programmed’) in our memory.

The basic principle of NLP is that it is in an individual`s power to change their own subconscious programming for the better. Therefore, using NLP based techniques, can for some people be more effective than classic counselling or psychotherapy. It focuses on YOU and helps you to discover your own answers that are right for YOU, without going over and over the bad and negative memories. Timeline exercise work can be done in session to visit past events of trauma, but the focus is on helping you to deal with these past events better and then move you forward with new learning and better equipped for future events. It helps encourage positive thinking and opening up of your choices to reach your goals, it can even help you find your sense of purpose with emphasis on achieving that what you ‘really’ want from life (not what you know you don’t want).

Our certified Master NLP practitioner and motivational coach is also a degree qualified clinical nutritionist and psychotherapist trainee, a member of the Association for Neuro-Linguistic Programming (ANLP) and student member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and currently also studying for a post graduate diploma in Outcome-Oriented Psychotherapies. In Summary:

  • NLP is a Model of Communication that empowers people to run their own brains by understanding and using the “language” of the mind.
  • NLP provides a model, insights, and specific step-by-step techniques for running your own brain and managing you own positive and negative states. It encourages more effective and elegant communication and encourages the replication of human expertise in every field.
  • NLP is the science of how the brain codes learning and experience. This coding affects all of our communication and behaviour. It affects how we learn and how we experience the world around us.
  • NLP allows us to notice the process of our thinking as separate from the content of our thinking
  • NLP gives us choices about how we think, which inevitably make it easier to change what we think and the behaviours that follow.
