Nutrition & Lifestyle Consulting
What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional therapy is the study and application of nutrition science to support the promotion and maintenance of good health, peak or optimal performance throughout all life stages. Our degree qualified nutritional therapist can help you to optimise your physical and mental wellbeing, as well as support the management of any health related symptoms. Through the application of nutrition science in a functional medicine approach, biochemistry laboratory investigations through blood, stool, urine and saliva may be recommended (if appropriate). This can help make your therapeutic programme more cost effective in the long-run and allows a more targeted therapeutic strategy as close as possible to your individual needs and health goals.
Why Could Nutritional Therapy be Helpful?
Utilising the knowledge of nutrition science and the functional medicine model approach enables the investigation of ‘symptoms’ in a different way. It assesses all body functions and how they relate with each other to gain a more complete health picture. This service is much more complex than just doing a quick diet or food plan advice. It takes a full spectrum of interactions into consideration, including your unique biochemical and genetic individuality and any possible drug-nutrient-herb interactions. A detailed health, family and medical history can show certain health patterns as well as give indications on genetic predispositions, that together with cellular biochemistry testing (private or GP) can allow for a more targeted and individualised preventative approach. This process is not just looking at an individual’s presentation of symptoms or health issues. It enables the investigating of underlying and potentially contributing factors to your health concerns that are otherwise often overlooked. Our clinic works exclusively in collaboration with your GP and existing health care professional teams.

How Does it Work?
The first initial session is 75-90 minutes for a detailed personal history taking. Follow-up sessions are generally 45-60 minutes long. Most people require at least two follow-up sessions to cover all test result analyses, supplement and food plan recommendations. You will receive a wide range of information handouts to support your programme, including meal plans, recipes, shopping guides. There are some conditions that may require a longer-term relationship for sustained management, including some chronic health conditions, and e.g. weight loss programmes. For more information on the process, see here.
What Happens After The Programme & What If I Still Need Support?
We will provide further email and telephone support in case any questions arise. Annual to bi-annual follow-up sessions after your course of programme and may be recommended. For more information on the process, see here.
General lifestyle recommendations are part of the programme. Our clinical nutritionist is also a certified Master NLP Practitioner & Motivational Coach (see here for more). Combining the nutritional therapeutic approaches with Therapeutic, NLP & Motivational Coaching techniques can be crucial in helping you to make more sustainable changes to successfully achieve your social, lifestyle and health goals and outcomes.
