How Does it Work?

First consultation (1h 15- 1h 30min)

Your health, family and medical history will be discussed in detail, along with your current health goals. With your permission, we may also carry out non-invasive in-house tests. In some cases, laboratory tests may be suggested but are not obligatory. Preliminary dietary advice will be given at the end of your first consultation. If possible, please bring with you any medication or supplements that you are currently taking so that we can check contents and dosages. Your practitioner works with this information to develop an individually tailored programme that suits your needs and lifestyle. This will be presented to you in detail at the next two consultations.

Follow-up consultation (45-60min)

A follow-up consultation normally takes place 2-3 weeks later. Your practitioner will analyse and interpret test results (if applicable). A whole session is often required to discuss test results and to discuss your programme with you. This may include dietary supplementation (as appropriate) and key dietary and lifestyle recommendations based on your individual needs and test results. The third session will cover a full session on in depth food and diet coaching, providing practical meal ideas, shopping guides and recipes. At each of the sessions, you will be given information that you can take away with you including your personalised health plan, fact sheets and further resources.

If dietary supplements are recommended, only those are used that are of a high quality. Many can only be accessed through a health practitioner and are not available directly to the public.

Between visit support

Your practitioner is there to offer support between visits through either phone or email. If your query is complex, we may recommend that you book a consultation to discuss in detail.

Number of visits

The number of follow-up sessions required will depend on your particular health concern. While some clients will only require two sessions, we anticipate seeing most clients 3 – 4 times. Follow-up sessions give you the opportunity to ask any questions you have and enable us to monitor how the programme is going for you. As your health improves, your programme will be revised accordingly. If you are finding it difficult to implement any part of your programme, we can provide tailored coaching to help you make sustainable changes more effectively. There are some conditions that may require a longer-term relationship for sustained management. These include mental health conditions, eating disorders or some chronic illnesses where the aim is to support any underlying imbalances, improve symptoms and quality of life.

Tests

Biochemical laboratory investigations through blood, stool, urine and saliva may be recommended. Some may be available through your GP, others through private laboratories. These include for example full comprehensive stool analysis and parasitology to assess gastrointestinal function, blood screens for status of vitamins, minerals, antioxidant enzymes, essential fatty acids, vitamin D, homocysteine, as well as food allergy and intolerance screening using quantitative ELISA IgG analysis. If any tests are appropriate for you health goals will be discussed during your consultation session. These tests are not obligatory, but can help to keep costs down over the long-term as it may allow your practitioner to target your therapeutic programme as closely to your individual needs as possible.

Costs & Payments

The cost of the programme will vary depending on the tests, consultations, and nutritional supplements required.  Consultation fees may vary depending on the individual clinic attended. Typically, over a year, most clients spend between £500-£900 on consultations and tests, depending on the number and complexity of tests, plus between £1-3 per day for supplements. Longer-term programmes including therapeutic coaching sessions can be negotiated at reduced rates.
